Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, almost every non-domestic building needs a suitable way to detect a fire and warn people. The person in control of the building, known as the Responsible Person, has to make sure that happens.
In Walsall, West Midlands Fire Service is the enforcing authority and can inspect your premises.
