Self-monitored or monitored CCTV: you choose

We specialise in commercial CCTV, and we offer it two ways:

  • Self-monitored. You and your team watch live and recorded footage on your phone, tablet or computer, with motion alerts sent straight to you.
  • Monitored through our EMCS monitoring station. Your cameras are linked to our EMCS monitoring station, so trained operators act on what the cameras see when you're not watching.

On the free site survey we'll talk through which suits your building, your opening hours and your insurer.

CCTV we already look after in Birmingham

Assay Studios, Jewellery Quarter

Assay Studios at 141 Newhall Street is a Grade II listed former assay office, now creative office space shared by many tenants. We look after the building's CCTV and access control, as well as its fire alarm and fire extinguisher servicing. A listed, multi-tenant building means neat cable routes, cameras that suit the building, and footage the managing agent can get to quickly. See the Birmingham case study.

The Hollymoor Centre, Northfield

The Hollymoor Centre is a charity-run education centre with a nursery. After we replaced their fire alarm in an emergency, the centre moved all their systems across to us, and our team installed a new CCTV system of 32 Hikvision IP turret cameras across the site. Read the Hollymoor case study.

Does your CCTV let you down when you need it?

We're often asked to look at business CCTV that looks fine on the wall but doesn't help when something happens:

  1. Footage too grainy, or cameras pointing the wrong way, so you can't make out a face or a number plate.
  2. A recorder that stopped recording weeks ago, and nobody noticed.
  3. No way to check the cameras when you're not on site.
  4. A system fitted by a company that's gone quiet, with nobody to call.

Get it right once, and you've got evidence when you need it and a deterrent the rest of the time.

CCTV installation for Birmingham businesses

Multi-let offices and listed buildings

City-centre buildings around Colmore Row, the Jewellery Quarter and Digbeth often have several tenants, shared entrances and period features. We plan camera positions and cable routes to cover entrances, receptions, stairs and bike stores without spoiling the building, and set up access so the right people can view the right cameras.

Jewellers and high-value retail

We have security experience with jewellers' premises. Cameras that cover counters, safes, doors and the street frontage, linked to your intruder alarm and monitored if you need it, so footage and alarm events tell the same story.

Schools, nurseries and charities

Cameras around gates, car parks and entrances to support safeguarding. Our engineers all hold enhanced DBS checks, and we plan the work for school holidays, half-terms, evenings or weekends wherever we can. We understand how carefully charity budgets have to be managed.

Industrial units, warehouses and yards

Perimeter and yard cameras with infrared for clear images after dark, and ANPR where you need to log vehicles in and out, for sites in Tyseley, Aston, Witton, Erdington and the trading estates around the city. See fire and security for warehouses.

How it works

  1. Free site survey. We walk your site with you and agree what each camera needs to see. It's a short, non-invasive visit: we see what's needed, guide you to the right solution and give you costs.
  2. Design. Camera positions, recording and storage, set out in a clear written proposal.
  3. Install and commission. Our team fits and tests the system, sets up remote viewing and shows your staff how to use it.
  4. Maintenance. Routine servicing keeps cameras clean, aimed and recording, with records in your customer portal.

CCTV and UK GDPR, in plain English

Business CCTV records personal data, so the rules apply. We set your system up with that in mind:

  • Cameras aimed at your property, not neighbours or the street beyond what you need
  • Clear CCTV signs where cameras are in use
  • Secure, password-protected recording and remote access
  • Footage you can find and export quickly if it's requested

Businesses using CCTV may need to pay the ICO data protection fee, and you stay responsible for how footage is used. Check the ICO's guidance for your situation.

FAQs

CCTV installation in Birmingham: your questions answered

Do you install CCTV in Birmingham?
Yes. We design, install and maintain commercial CCTV across Birmingham, including the CCTV at Assay Studios in the Jewellery Quarter and a 32-camera system at The Hollymoor Centre in Northfield.
Is SAFE NSI approved for CCTV?
Yes. Our NSI approval covers CCTV, so our CCTV work is independently audited. That's the kind of proof insurers and larger customers often ask for.
Do you install home CCTV?
No. We work with commercial premises only: offices, shops, schools, charities, care settings, warehouses and industrial sites.
Can I see my cameras on my phone?
Yes. We set up secure remote viewing, so you can see live and recorded footage on your phone, tablet or computer, and get motion alerts if you want them.
Can you take over CCTV another company fitted?
Yes. We'll look at what's there and tell you plainly what can be kept, such as cabling or some cameras, and what needs replacing.
Can you monitor our CCTV, or can we monitor it ourselves?
Yes. We offer both. A self-monitored system lets you check your cameras on your phone, and our monitored solution links your cameras to our EMCS monitoring station. See alarm monitoring.
How much does CCTV installation cost in Birmingham?
It depends on the number of cameras, the building and how long you need to keep footage. Book a free site survey and we'll give you a clear written quote.
